Hello, Kari here today with 2 fairy cards to share. These cards are alike in every way except for ONE SMALL DIFFERENCE. This is an exciting discovery! You can create such different looks with this *NEW March Kit by just changing up one small element in your card.
Today I started with a dark cardstock for my card. And then I made the EXACT SAME CARD using white perfect blend cardstock…and look how dramatic that one small change is for these cards!
Yes, those are the exact same colors of Oxide Inks on both cards….but they look dramatically different on the dark cardstock versus the Perfect Blend cardstock.
I have a video sharing all the details of how I created these cards, watch it below or in HD on YouTube:
For this experimental card making session, I chose 3 Distress Oxide Colors: Twisted Citron, Shabby Shutters, and Pine Needles. Then I ink blended these using a radiating look, with the lightest color in the center.
I initially wanted to stamp these silhouette stamps from the kit in a black ink, but I fought that instinct and instead WHITE HEAT EMBOSSED it on my first card (the dark cardstock). Then I compared that to a dark ink stamped on white cardstock.
What do you think? Which do you like better?
On both cards, I added some white gel pen dot detail. I also added the silver holographic glitter that came in the kit by dotting on some liquid adhesive, then sprinkling the glitter over that. I added the glitter to her wings, and also in dots around the dandelion.
I used some teal mirror card and black card to mat the panel, and then adhered it all onto a heavy weight card base.
Give it a try and let us know what you come up with! I know you are going to LOVE this kit.
