Archives for March 2019
Hello, it’s Kari! Today I’m excited to share how to use the Artesprix Heat Transfer Markers with the Silhouette Cameo!
Ever since I got these markers in the March 2019 Hedgehog Hollow Kit, I’ve wanted to try them with the Silhouette. There are so many great designs with the Silhouette that these markers would be perfect for!
So today I finally have the video ready to show you just how easy it is to create an iron-on design with the Silhouette Cameo.
Watch below or on YouTube:
My video also includes how to use the Pen Adapter kit that you need for the Silhouette. It’s easy, but I did have a few issues in getting this to work for me. So I hope the video instruction makes it SO much easier for you!
My project today is a cooking theme. Next week I start cooking classes with my granddaughters and I thought this would be perfect.
I’m hoping to find an apron with Polyester to transfer their names or a fun cooking design for each of them. What will you make now that you know how to use these sublimation markers with your Silhouette?
See you next week with another project I have up my sleeve!
Hi, Hollowers! It’s Lynnea! I’m just head over heels for all of the products from Elizabeth Craft Designs in the February kit from The Hedgehog Hollow. And there are still a few boxes left! Head over to The Hedgehog Hollow shop to grab your February 2019 one – off box before they sell out!
I love the little bee in the Buzzin’ Around stamp set! I stamped the bee, the little trail, “bzz” and sentiment on a piece of smooth cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed all of my stamping with clear powder. I grabbed my go to coloring medium – watercolor markers – and added some quick color to the yellow parts of the bee and some light blue to the inside part of the wings leaving them white at the tips for a bit of dimension.
I had every intention of leaving the background plain white and just doing a simple stamped background – but it was just too plain. So I sat and thought for a while. I decided I wanted to do a yellow background and the easiest way to do it was to do some post it note masking! I grabbed a stack of three full stick post it notes and stamped the bee three times. I cut out the bee right along the black line. Once I had the shapes cut out all I had to do was peel them apart and I had 9 little bee masks! I aligned them over my stamping and grabbed some Distress Inks and started blending. I used Scattered Straw at the top and blended into Fossilized Amber and a bit of Wild Honey at the bottom!
I peeled off the masks ( it’s seriously like magic! ) and I was so excited at the muted yellow background! I’m so happy I didn’t leave it white! Thanks for joining me! Remember to snag your February 2019 one – off box!
Hello friends! Today I’m using the March Kit to try my hand at a Zentangle®-style T-Shirt design.
If you Google “Zentangle®,” you’ll find thousands of different designs to draw, and usually the instructions on how to do them, too.
The basic idea is to draw four corner dots, connect them with a light pencil line to make a border, then lightly draw another line (called a string) inside the border to make sections. It’s inside these sections where you draw your designs.
For my shirt today, I made a heart border and drew the string from top to bottom, adding a couple of twists and turns along the way.
Since I was doing a video, I pre-planned some of the design in pencil before I started in with the black Artesprix marker. Watch how it came together below!
Today I have another guest post with the Academy of Scrapbooking and Arts, did you see we announced the winners of the inaugural Scrapbooking World Championships? There were some amazing entries, as judges we had a really tough job; I encourage you to check out the winning projects and also to get crafting ready for next years entries; it’s not just scrapbooking, but card making, mixed media, any type of paper crafting goes!
Today I am showing you how to create a rainbow background, it is based on a technique I saw Vicki Boutin use on a scrapbook page but I wanted to adapt it to a smaller scale for a card background and I’m so pleased how it turned out! I also got to use my favorite new Gina K release stamp! Gina is also being generous as always and sharing an exclusive coupon with Hedgehog Hollow subscribers! This time we have 15% off the lovely world stamps & dies I used in today’s project!! Just click this link and enter the code WORLD15 at checkout. Code valid until March 9th 2019 midnight EST! While supplies last, not valid on previous orders.
I love how bright and happy this card is, particularly as we have thick snow out the window as I write this post! I love crafting with rainbows, they just always spark joy; of course I have a full tutorial on how to create this card at home!
I hope you enjoyed following along with my card making process too! Here is a complete supply list for you, (affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you).
Thanks so much for joining me today, don’t forget our National Craft Month exclusive Hedgehog Hollow savings, plus our exclusive Gina K code for this weekend! You can find all those as always at the bottom of this post and the Gina K code is at the beginning of this post!
