Hi friends! Kim here from Stamping Imperfection to share 3 quick and easy emboss resist cards using the July Hedgehog Hollow Atomic Age and Midcentury stamp sets.
These are single layer cards and I’m using the Maker Forte Neon inks to create a lovely soft background for the fabulous Midcentury sentiments.
I used stamps from the Atomic Age to heat emboss three different backgrounds using white embossing powder. For the first card, one of the large diamond patterns was used and simply stamped twice horizontally towards the bottom of the card. The pattern lined up nicely resulting in a border on the bottom third of the card.
Once I finished heat embossing the pattern, I pulled out the Yellowstone and Outrageous Neon ink pads from Maker Forte. I love how bright these colors are. It was amazing to me to see how soft and light the colors were when I blended them onto my card base. The result was a bright, but softly colored card base. The card bases are all cut at 4-1/4 x 11″, scored and folded at 5-1/2.
I used the Thank You vertical sentiment which I stamped and heat embossed in black. Then I fussy cut out the sentiment and popped it up on some foam tape along the left edge of the card overlapping the border I create. Additionally, I added some color to the sentiment with my alcohol markers.
I finished it off with 3 Bittersweet Crown Jewel Gems from Maker Forte.
My second card was created by the same process. For this card, I used a vertical border along the left third of the card. I topped it with a happy birthday sentiment. I backed this with a yellow piece of card stock and added some orange ink to the white spaces around the sentiment.
The third card has a background created by placing all the little stamps onto a large block and then filling the card front with stamped images. This was also heat embossed in white and then ink blended with the orange and yellow. You can see that I used a different sentiment from the set, but colored it in with my alcohol markers in the same way.
These retro patterns are really fun to create with and I love adding the orange and yellow for a nice bright pop of color.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you feel inspired to create something quick and easy today!
