The May Hedgehog Hollow bog is stuffed full of crafty goodness. I have a video to share with you today with 3 single layer cards that have lots of sparkle and shine.

I used the foilable die cut ephemera from the kit on two of the cards and the fabulous Sugar Sparkle glitter on the third card.

I really loved the stamp sets and sentiments in this music themed box. I have several friends who teach music and they will be delighted to receive these cards!

I started by pulling some Deco Foil sheets out of my stash and warming up my laminator. I used the Summer Rainbow foil I found in my drawer and did the french horn, the solid baby grand piano, and that fabulous musical scale. Those scales look gorgeous foiled!

I just created a card a few days ago for a 3-2-1 Challenge and I thought that was a really inspirational formula for creating a fairly clean and simple (CAS) card. I repeated that for the first two cards that I created.

This card has 3 embellishments, 2 foiled die cut ephemera pieces, and one stamped sentiment.

I used liquid glue to adhere the piano directly on to my card base which is cut at 4-1/4 x11″ and scored and folded at 5-1/2″.

Foam tape on the back of the scale allowed me to pop that up and overlap the piano to create my scene.

I stamped the sentiment from the smaller stamp set in the kit directly on to the card with my Color Hive Eclipse Black ink. Then of course I pulled out my favorite Crown Jewel Gems in Vegas Strip and added 3 of those in a triangle shape around my foiled images.

The second card actually uses 3 embellishments, 2 stamped images, and 1 foiled die cut ephemera piece.

The moment I had the largest stamp set in my hands, I knew that I would be using this gorgeous meandering musical staves image on at least one card! I stamped that first and then popped the french horn that I had foiled up on foam squares and layered it over the top of the staves.

I added my sentiment and 3 Crown Jewel Gems to complete my card.

The final card has that fantastic background stamp with all the musical terms heat embossed in black on the top center portion of the card.

I added 3 strips of 1/4″ double sided adhesive tape to the bottom of the card and covered it with the Sugar Sparkle glitter included in the kit. I burnished the glitter on by rubbing it with my finger and swept off the excess with my Maker Forte sweeper tool.

This card is so simple, but I always find something comforting about black and white cards!

How To Foil:

Simply place the black side of the ephemera piece against the back side of the foil and place them in a carrier sheet. A carrier sheet is either parchment paper or plain copy paper that you fold in half with your foil and ephemera placed inside. I always send the carrier sheet through my laminator with the fold going into the machine first.

Once it comes out the other side, simply peel the ephemera piece off the foil paper and be amazed at how pretty it is!
