Today I have what I am (after much googling) crediting as my own invention and after some trial and error I am delighted to share with you a shaker framed card…
I love the rich purple tones in this card, particularly those highlighted by the sequins and that stunning ombre pad; here’s a closer shot of the frame…
This is one of those projects that Mr HH tells me is far too long for a video…wrong!….the die set does all of this for you! Here is a full tutorial, only took 17 minutes and I had nothing pre-stamped and no fast forwarding…
I hope you enjoy trying out this technique; I tried lots of dies and the lacy squares made it super easy! Here’s a complete supply list…
If you missed my post on the Vagabond used in this video you can check it out here; Scrapbook.com have an awesome price on it too!
Happy Stamping!
I’m not a huge shaker card fan but your card is the exception to the rule – lovely and fun!
Favorite stamp brand? Yikes there are so many. But I’ll grab the first one that pops into my head: Hero Arts.
Thank you so much, its always nice to hear your card changed someones mind! Hero arts is great! i really should expand my selection!
My favorite stamp brandis Stampin Up. I have not ventured out because I don’t know much about the other companies but I am sure I will learn a lot from your blog! Thank you!!!
They do have some wonderful stamps, I still find myself picking out the catalog!
love shaker cards and my favorite brand stamps is wow it is not easy to choose but I like a lot Penny Black
I love them too they have some great Hedgehogs!
My favorite stamp brand is quickly becoming Lawn Fawn. I still do like Stampin’ Up as well. Love shopping at scrapbook.com so this is a great giveaway from them!
They have been amazing to work with! I love lawn fawn too, have so many of their stamps and dies!
Lovely card in a lovely color – my fav – purple! I love Stampin’ Up stamps, but I have some Penny Black and Lawn Fawn stamps in my collection.
More purple coming your way soon! Good choice of stamps there too
Hi, my main go to inks come from Stampin Up. After viewing your demonstration I am inspired to give shaker cards and ombrestyle inks a try. Thanks, deb
Ombre inks are my new favourite!
I’m learning so much from you!!! I need to find time do work with all the info you provide!!! I like SU stamp pads
Thank you! Happy stamping!
Enjoyed the video. Thanks. I’m a Stampin’ Up demo so I would have to say my favourite stamp brand is Stampin’ Up!
I still love them too, looking forward to the new catalog!
So far my fav stamp brand is Brutus Monroe – I like that I can use it on a lot of different surfaces and it stays put! This card looks like fun — may be giving something inspired by it a go! Thanks for sharing.
Oh I havent heard of them, I shall get googling!
I lie Memento ink pads. I like the felt dye pads instead of the Stampin’ Up foam pads.
I too have saved my old style felt pads!
I like stampin up also. Great idea about the shaker cards using dies!
Thank you!
I like the shaker card. I have been interested in learning how to make them
I use Close to My Heart ink pads as well as some of the small pads from Stamp’n Up.
I dont have any CTMH but I would like some!
Paper Smooches they are gat and happy critters etcz….
Oh yes they are great!
I LOVE your idea! Wow!
Thank you!
Hey!!!
Of course everyone’s favorite is Stampin Up but I also love Graphic 45 and Art Impression stamps(the girlfriends are to die for). I also love that your showing us the great products offered in this industry and at Srcapbook.com!
Stayed tuned for lots of AI I have soooo many of them!
I love the Shaker card. It is different from the rest of them
Thank you 🙂
I have never made a shaker card before because I thought it was hard. I think I can do it now. My favorite is SU because that’s all I have used so far.
So glad we have helped, we have some other shaker videos too on the more conventional style!
My favorite company is Stampin’ Up!
They are great!
My most favorite stamp brand is between Unity and Stampin’ Up. Love this shaker card and thanks for sharing your knowledge and talent.
I love unity, they are on my wish list!
I liked this new take on a shaker card with the sequins surrounding the main image instead of being placed over it. I have been stamping a long time and can’t name any favorite stamp brands because there are too many. I’ve ordered from Scrapbook.com before and like their products, prices, and fast, efficient service.
Thank you so much; lovely to hear your great experiences with our brand too, be sure to use our link for your future shopping so they know you love the hollow!
Another fantastic tutorial Alexandra, such a simple prep with those dies but super effective, looks like it took hours! Not sure if the waffle flower dies are available in the UK but I’ll be trying this with other brands. I love stampin up stamps but don’t really have a favourite, I just love stamps!!!
Hi Julia, I have never seen them but scrapbook.com will ship to the UK and at quite a reasonable cost as will Simon Says Stamp who stock waffle flower too; be sure to use our links on the sidebar so they know you love the hollow!
Not a fan of shaker cards. But I still love watching your videos! As far as stamps go I’ve only used ctmh and stampin up. Looking forward to trying some other brands in the near future.
As they say you can’t please all the people all the time but thanks for stopping by anyway!
I have to say that I have many favourite stamp companies – Stampendous, Penny Black, Art Impressions… you get the idea.
i’d find it hard to choose too!
My favourite brand is stampin up! I only started papercrafting in August and haven’t tried another brand yet to compare
SU is great, hopefully we will inspire you to try some other brands too!
That is such a creative idea! I love it, and I can imagine a bunch of variations. Can’t wait to try it myself! As for a favorite stamp company, I think it has to be either Lawn Fawn or MFT. They both have a wonderful mix of both cute and elegant stamps that seem to be perfect for what I need 🙂 At the moment I’m pretty infatuated with MFT’s Otterly Love You set <3
Thank you so much, I love MFT too!
Cool take on the shaker card. My favorite stamps are lawn fawn.
Thank you, I love lawn fawn too and their co-ordinating dies
Hello,
Love the shaker card, always interested in new ideas. Not sure what my favorite brand of ink is …there are so many. I do love the Versamark and Stazon ….but use many others. Thank you for the chance to win.
Thank you, I’m not a staz-on fan funnily enough, I prefer the MFT hybrid as I find staz-on too thick
Love shaker cards. Hard to say which is my favourite. I love stampin’ up and hero arts, but out of these two it would have to be stampin’ up.
Two great companies with such variety!
I’ve been getting a variety of stamps lately. Enjoy your blogs, etc and it has opened my eyes to the big variety. Like Graphic 45, Carta Bella, and Gerda Steiner
There are some great names there!
My favorite stamp company is Fun Stampers Journey! I love this shaker card!
I have a friend who is a consultant but I haven’t invested yet, must add something to the list!
I have to say Stampin up at the moment but you are exposing me to so many new ones!thank you!
SU are great but hopefully we can tempt you to some other too!
I love CTMH photopolymer stamps but SU ranks right up there as well. Thanks for sharing the other different brands as well. I have never made a shaker card…and you make it look so easy so will have ol give it a try.
Do, they are super easy and really effective, i’ve been wanting to try CTMH but havent invested as yet!
I have to say that my favorite is Stampin Up! I am really enjoying being introduced to all the others, though, on your blog and in your videos. I look forward to your posts! 🙂 Enjoy the snow.
Thanks Susan, I still love SU too!
I am partial to SU as most of my stamps are from their line. However, I like Papertrey Ink as well.
I’m a papertrey fan of old, I haven’t bought any in a long time
Great shaker card idea.
Now ,you want me to narrow it down to one, just one stamp company…not sure I can do that.
I love Clearly Besotted, Paper Smooches, Stamping Bella, Gerder Steiner, Pink & Main, Mama Elephant….amongst many others……I really like Clearly Besotted but unfortunately they are taking a hiatus at the moment but hoping to be back in April.
Kathleen Mc x
Oh I didnt know that! I’m a mam elephant girl out of all those! But stamping bella are made just down the road from me!

I’ve never made a shaker card but yours looks really fun to make , and stampin up is my favorite stamp . .. have a great week , bye bye
Give it a go!
I am just coming back to stamping after a LONG time away. I’m really only familiar with Stampin Up and Close to my Heart. Its great to see so many different brands out there and so many options. I guess I’m looking for my new favorite brand! BTW…I love the shaker frame card, I cant wait to make it!
Thanks Amy, the amrket has grown so much in the past few years; it’s great to have so much selection but hard to see it all! Glad you are enjoying our adventure and hopefully we can inspire you to try something new!
Wonderful! My favorite stamp company is Big Red Stamps.
I haven’t heard of them I shall look them up!
Awesome shaker card!
Favorite stamp brand…. hard to choose just one! But Penny Black is one of my top picks!
Thank you, i love penny black…particularly of course the hedgehogs!
I have not made any shaker cards and I love this idea! My favorite stamp companies are Stampin Up, Unity, Lawn Fawn…..well the list goes on….thanks for the inspiration of using nested dies for this project!
Great list you have there!
Love your shaker card. I really don’t have a favorite I just like a bunch Hero Art Stampin up and more.
Its a hard choice, so many choices out there
I am a newish follower of Hedgehog Hollow and am loving it so far. Too many brands too choose from, but I love Unity Stamp Co, Concord & 9th, Altenew (the list is actually quite long!!!)
Firstly, welcome! There’s so much variety, I agree its hard to choose
What a great idea! I am going to try one with my SU framelits and maybe add it to my card club night for a unique technique! As always, you are very inspirational.
Do show us what you come up with
