Hey friends! It’s Victoria and I am back with another card project using a stencil and the Geo Zoo Stamp Set from the June 2020 Subscription Box!
The stencil in this box is perfect to use with Tim Holtz Oxide Inks! The smooth finish almost looks like velvet! Ready to give this a try? Here’s what you will need:
- Black card base (4.25 x 5.5 inches) and a panel (4 x 5 inches)
- Distress Oxide Ink (select three coordinating colors)
- A blender Tool or brush
- Geo Zoo Stamp Set
- Kind Stamp Add-On
- Kind Geo Patterns Stamp Set
- Stencil from the June Subscription Box
- White Embossing Powder
- Embossing Ink
- Jewels or Gems (optional)
To begin, position the stencil on top of a 4 x 5 inch black card stock panel. Apply Distress Oxide Ink with a blender tool, alternating your selected colors, on the card stock panel. TIP: Try this technique with mists, modeling paste, or glitter paste!
Next, heat emboss a sentiment using white embossing power. For this card, I used the Kind Geo Patterns stamp set and the Kind Add-On stamp sets.
Using the Geo Zoo stamp, ink and stamp the butterfly image on a piece of velum (you can also use white or black card stock). Apply white embossing powder over the image, remove the excess, and set the embossing powder using a heat tool. Fussy cut the butterfly image and add it to the card panel above the sentiment.
Lastly, add jewels, sequin, or gems to finish the card! For this project, I used a gorgeous sequin mix from Picket Fence Studios.
The June Subscription Box is so much fun to play with! You can create a simple, high impact card in no time! In the comments section, tell us…do you enjoy using stencils as part of your card design?
