Hi Hollowers!
Happy New Year! It has been another whirlwind year; Greg and I have been sitting here thinking about where we were this time last year; yes on the same couch in the same room. We were planning for our first Creativation, we were so excited (OK I was, Greg was just coming along for the ride!); HH was only 8 months old; we had around 10,000 YouTube subscribers which was such a crazy number; we couldn’t imagine we would double and then some again in the next twelve months!
We didn’t have our subscription box, in fact it didn’t really come together until we were in Phoenix; we have now sent out over 4,300 boxes since we started and January is my favorite yet! We have also grown from just Greg & I to also Lexi, Amber, Hannah and Ashuna; we couldn’t do it without them too! We are all working flat out to make Creativation amazing. Not only will we be the Official Media Partner (can you believe it) we are doing lots of work for Tonic and a few other companies; plus we also have some other special plans in the works we can’t reveal until we are there.
On a more personal note this year has been a challenge for our family; last January we lost Greg’s Grandma; she was a big part of our family and loved alot by us all, due to our Green Card applications we weren’t able to travel home to see here before she passed away so it was very hard for Maddi & Greg in particular. In addition, Maddi has really struggled with her health; many of you know she has juvenile arthritis and has battled this since she was 3 but she has had some quite severe mental health issues over the past few years and we spent alot of time this year getting her the help she needs and we are hopefully taking very small, slow steps forward. I have also had my own health issues that have taken some time to fix; so all in all we spent more time than we would wish for trying to get Maddi and I mended!
Back to HH, I feel like so much has happened this year it’s easy to forget! We of course won our silver medal at the Craft Industry awards in February for Best Young Business Person. We started our first design team and are now on our second term. We have an amazing partnership with Tonic Studios. We have filmed a number of segments for Make It Artsy on PBS which have been so much fun, we can’t wait to go back next year. We not only visited Creativation but also In The MKNG in New York state, the Mixed Media Event in Salt Lake City and the National Stationery Show in New York City. We had Lynn Lilly visit the studio and film with us and I will be visiting her early in 2019 for some fun filming!
2018 has been a fun year, Hedgehog Hollow has grown far beyond our wildest dreams; from the humble beginnings of filming with my phone in our basement to our new full service separate video and photo studios. We have also been working on a few secret behind the scenes projects that we hope to beable to share early in the year that we know you are going to love too. What has been your favorite part of 2018 here at the Hollow? Do leave us a comment and let us know. For now I will leave you with our top nine Instagram posts…
Happy New Year From All of Us at Hedgehog Hollow

Then, when you added your design team, I was like, oh my, she’s expanding. And then finally learning you and Creativation !!!!!! So so ecstatic for Hedgehog Hollow!!!!!
Congratulations on your growth, your achievements, and your business inspirations!!!!
It’s been amazing to see just how far you have come from your Stampin Up days I wish you and your lovely little family a very Healthy and Happy New Year.
Congrats on all the successes you’ve enjoyed over the last year. We must all learn to embrace life when it goes awry and still find our resilience to press forward. It’s impossible to choose between the Inktober and Nuvember series, they were both so informative. I wish you good fortune in all your future endeavours and great health and happiness to you and your family in 2019 and beyond.
I love hearing about your kids. I do miss the technique videos with you – like you did in the beginning. I am really looking forward to seeing what 2019 will bring.
Julie
