Hi! It’s Jill of Jill Cameron Creations with a Christmas card using the November kit from Hedgehog Hollow! These stamp sets are soooo adorable! I literally ‘squeeeee’d with I opened my package.
I usually have an inspiration of some kind for my cards and this was inspired by crafting itself. Sometimes, I think we get really wrapped up in doing something the right way or the way someone else does it. I’m here today to encourage you to let some of that go! I find that alcohol inks allow me to let go of those things…even if for a little bit. Check out what I mean in my video.
This card was a lot of fun to make. Here’s a quick rundown of how this card came together.
I made the background using alcohol inks on Yupo paper. I did not use Blending Solution first; my Yupo was dry. I added tons of green inks in drops then just blew it around until it looked like I wanted it to look.
Let it dry completely. Alcohol inks can be a little tacky to the touch and for the next part, you do not want any tacky surfaces on the paper.
Once it is dry, use an anti-static powder tool over the surface of the paper. I stamped the tree image, applied the embossing powder, stamped the next image and applied the embossing powder. Then, very slowly with a super hot heat tool, I melted the embossing powder. Yupo paper will warp and melt so be careful.
Lastly, I added a subtle background using the stencil in this month’s kit, Verasamark Ink and a blending brush. I embellished the trees with some clear sparkling jewels from Pretty Pink Posh.
A super simple card!
