Aloha Friends! I have a fun card to share with you today! I used one of the patterned papers and one of the fabulous sentiments in the kit to create my card.

I am enjoying the patterned papers that we are getting in the kits. Having the papers sized for A2 cards is fabulous. I am less reluctant to trim them down and actually use them. I feel like there is so much less waste this way. With a 6 x 6″ paper, you get a lot of odd sized strips leftover.

I also appreciate only having a set of 12 sheets instead of 24 or 48. I never use up a paper pack with that many papers. You end up with a giant collection of patterned paper if you don’t use it before the next kit comes. I’m loving these 12 packs with A2 sized papers!

I also loved having some solid stamps that required no coloring. It was nice to be able to heat emboss my sentiment and image with some white embossing powder on this fabulous green cardstock.

I cut down the patterned paper to 4 x 5-1/4″ so that I could get a peek of that green around the edge of the patterned paper. It gives your eye a place to rest as it is moving across the card. With a busy pattern, you always want to have some spots your eye can rest.

Since this is a pretty simple card today, I decided to include a card sketch instead of a video. Here is the sketch I used to create my card:

Notice that instead of the circle, I used a pineapple which I fussy cut. I added foam to the sentiment and the pineapple to create some dimension on the card. A little dimension creates more interest on your card and allows those items to be the focal points.

Make sure you check out the Hedgehog Hollow subscription boxes. They are packed full of crafty goodness. This month we got two stamp set, a patterned paper set, and 3 stencils. What a great value for our crafty dollars!
