Hi Everyone, it’s Jenny here, and today I’m joining you with a card that features one of my favorite color combos – black, silver and hot pink!
I’m on a bit of a Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker kick right now – especially the hot pinks, so I decided to stamp the biggest floral from the August 2019 box with Alex Syberia twice.
I heat embossed the floral in WOW! Silver embossing powder onto Bristol Smooth cardstock. Bristol Smooth is the best cardstock I’ve found for blending Zigs onto – they go on really smoothly, and you can overlap them and they blend with very little effort. That’s exactly what I did here – I used four different colors for the florals, starting from darkest to lightest, Purple, Dark Pink, Pink, and Fluoro Pink. I colored each section of the petal, adding more dark for the shadowy areas. I then fussy cut out the flowers.
For my background, I heat embossed a fun rivet background stamp (from a 2018 HH box) in the same WOW! Silver embossing powder onto black cardstock trimmed to 4.25″ x 5.5″. I then popped the fussy cut flowers up on foam tape in opposite corners and popped the panel onto a white card base.
The sentiment is a piece of chipboard from the May 2018 Box, on which I added three layers of WOW! Silent Night embossing powder, and then adhered it to the flowers with liquid glue. I heat embossed the Hello from the August 2019 stampset in Silver EP onto a strip of black cardstock and popped it up on foam tape.
As a finishing touch, I added some iridescent jewels (Dark Sapphire Mix from Little Things by Lucy’s Cards). I think I’m definitely channelling my inner Emily Midgett on this card! Hope you like it!
