Hi Hollowers!
Last week I showed you my card for Greg to take on his trip. So many of you asked how I create these backgrounds so I thought a tutorial was the perfect reference tool. I used the My Favorite Things ‘Adventure Calling’ set, colored with Prisma pencils, as part of the tutorial I showed you some basic techniques to add some color and dimension to your image. Here is my finished card:
This is a great technique you can use with many shapes to create hillside like this, night sky’s, sunsets, etc! This si a series we will build our skills on over time. Here is your video tutorial, Maddi was home and really wanted to learn how to do this so I have my excellent assistant again! (She has to do a science project on Yuri Gagarin so stay tuned for our galaxy background).
Now for a supply list, I really recommend these barbers brushes for this technique and the eclipse tape, Simon Says Stamp have a great Gamsol set with the blending stumps in so I have linked that for you below…
Prisma colors used: Seashell pink, Scarlet Lake, Black Raspberry, Sunburst Yellow, Burnt Ochre, Lemon Yellow, Pink.
I also promised to link up the stamp shammy post you can find it here. Thanks so much for stopping by today. On Friday I will have a Scan n’ Cut tutorial for you on why I decided to make the investment and the great things I now use it for ALL the time!
Happy Stamping!
Thank you for sharing. Lovely spring card!
