Hi Everyone, Jenny here!
I’m was so excited to get my hands on the May Hedgehog Hollow box! It has some truly beautiful stamp designs in it this month, absolutely begging to be watercolored or pencil colored! I’ll have a forthcoming post where I show you that, but for this post, I wanted to let the images shine with very little embellishing.
I’ve created three cards using some of the gorgeous images, as well as an unboxing, which you can check out in my video here.
To create my cards, I used three of the panels of colored cardstock included in the box. For two of the panels, I stamped one or two of the images in a repeated pattern all over, using a similar (but slightly darker) toned ink, to create a tone on tone effect. Please note, the inks and embellishments for these cards are not in the box.
For the blue card, I stamped the large floral stamp three times, and then a slightly smaller image, in pale blue ink. I moved the images around to fit them together almost like a jig saw.
For the yellow card, I used a dark yellow-orange ink, and used my MISTI to stamp the image in a line down the centre, shifting the cardstock slightly each time.
For the pink card, I used the gorgeous ‘faux masked’ floral strips stamp set. I love how these can be used as borders, but also to leave a space on your card to stamp one of the fab sentiments. I used a deep pink ink for this one.
I also chose some Copic markers that matched the ink/cardstock to add a little bit of shading and depth to the images.
All of my sentiments were stamped in Nuvo Hybrid Black ink (from the April box) directly onto the panels, which I then backed to white card bases, also from the box.
As a finishing touch, I added embellishments that also matched the tone of the cards – I used pink gems and sequins.
Enjoy your boxes – see you next week!
