Hello again! It’s Kari VanNoy here with another project from the September kit. Today I have a fun idea to make a card using two of the peacocks in the kit. This is my first time using these peacocks, and I thought it would be fun to pair them with some strips of paper to make them really pop!

I was inspired by the colors of a peacock to choose cardstock in blues and greens to create these cards. For the first one, I cut the strips in varying heights and placed them onto a card panel with double-sided adhesive. Then I heat embossed that beautiful peacock in gold embossing powder. I added the sentiment “Dream On” and some gem stones to finish it off.

This card came together pretty quickly with absolutely no coloring. So if you don’t like coloring…this might be a card for you to try!

For the second card, I wanted to use strips of GLITTER paper (it reminds me of a showy peacock…) for this technique.

I die cut the heart shape and inlaid the glitter strips on the inside. Then I added a silver embossed peacock (with just a little coloring) and the sentiment “She dreamt she could, so she did.” I like the idea of this sentiment.

I have a quick video to show you just how to put these cards together, watch it below or on YouTube:

These are easy cards to put together, with just a bit of flair…perfect for peacock cards! I hope I inspired you to give this technique a try. Don’t forget to share your creations with us!

I hope you enjoyed these projects today! I’ll be back soon with even more inspiration.
