Hello all you crafty people! This is my very first post as a Design Team member of The Hedgehog Hollow and I am just so pumped to be here!
A little bit about me: My name is Amanda Fitterer and I am obsessed with anything crafty and creative! I have a wonderful husband who doesn’t bat an eye at the amount of time I spend making cards and other paper projects! Together, we have 2 young kiddos and 2 pups.
I would love for you to follow me on Social Media!

Now, onto the cards!
For this first card, I used one of the large skull stamps from the Sugar Skulls stamp set. I stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. This ink is alcohol marker friendly, which works great with Copic markers. I colored the image using my markers.
Next, I die cut my image with the coordinating die.
To create my beautiful background for my card base, I used the Rose stencil. I blended the background with Candied Apple Distress Oxide and Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. I only needed to do the border of the base, since the skull would cover the center of the card.
I stamped the “Day of the Dead” sentiment on white cardstock. Using scissors, I cut the ends to make it a banner. I made 2 of these banners so I had one for each card. I adhered the skull and sentiment to the card base using 3D foam squares.
Now, onto my second card!
I used the very detailed and gorgeous skull die to cut some white cardstock.
Next, I used the Rose stencil again to create a background for my card base. I blended Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide for the flower. I used Mowed Lawn Distress Ink and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide for the leaves. To keep myself from blending the flower colors into the leaves colors, I used some Heffy Doodle Memo Tape to mask off the leaves (and vice versa).
I used 3D foam squares to adhere my skull and sentiment banner to the card base.
