Hello again! It’s Kari V. here with a fun project for Valentine’s Day (or any day!) I’m coloring with glitter today and it’s so much fun. I will show you just how I did this.
For my Valentine card today, I am using two older sets: the December 2019 Hedgehog Hollow kit (with the Valentine stamps and stencils) and the August 2019 Kit (with the beautiful florals by Alex Syberia).
I’ve paired them together to create a fun Valentine:
To start I stamped on the coral flower and heat embossed it. Then I masked it off to stamp the other two flowers behind it.
I used Zigs and a water brush to lay down the first layer of color, then I added a second layer but this time I used a Glitter Brush Marker to blend that color! It adds a subtle glitter shine to the flowers and looks so pretty!
I added a shadow of Zig “Shadow Mauve” marker above the flowers and blended it out with a water brush. You could use the Glitter marker for this, too, if you wanted!
Then I stenciled on those bubbles with some Blue Lagoon ink to give it more interest to the background.
I used the Blue Lagoon ink to stamp on the sentiment and hearts. For the hearts, I blended them out a little with the glitter brush marker.
To finish it all off, I added some Cocoa Liquid Pearls to the center of the flowers. This gives it more interest and texture.
I’ve created a short video to show you how it all came together, and give you some tips for blending with your Glitter Brush Marker. Watch it below or on YouTube:
I hope you enjoyed this project today. Happy Valentine’s Day!
