Try as I might, I couldn’t quite let go of the September 2019 box – the weather is starting to get a chill in the air here in New York, but I refuse to let go of Summer! I’ve combined the September and August Subscription boxes to give a floral feel to the peacock flourishes.
This card uses the beautiful iridescent vellum in the September box (it’s impossible to photograph, so trust me when I say that background isn’t white but shimmering blue-green vellum!). I repeat stamped the flourish stamp from the September box all over the piece of vellum in embossing ink, and then heat embossed with WO! Mermaid Tails embossing powder (it’s an opaque silver with chunks of holographic glitter).
I then stamped the large floral from the August box in Barely Blue ink (by Simon Says Stamp) and then watercolored it using Altenew pan watercolor in Lagoon. I added depth with a Tombow Dual Brush marker (443) and added a darker shadow with an ordinal pencil. I also added some touches of black and white gel pen to create the flower center. I then fussy cut it out and adhered it to the vellum with foam squares.
I adhered the vellum to a white card base by hiding the adhesive behind the flower and some of the flourishes. My sentiment is a simple chipboard word from a kit earlier in the year, and a few scattered Sparkling Clear sequins by Pretty Pink Posh.
How do you like the combination of flourishes and feathers?
