Hello! It’s Jill from Jill Cameron Creations! Today I’m sharing a simple Copic colored card just stamps and stencils from the July Hedgehog Hollow Kit.
First, I stamped each of the images from the sushi themed stamp set in Copic safe ink. I like Lawn Fawn’s Jet Black ink. It’s nice and dark. I usually stamp everything at least twice so I get really dark outlines.
Next, I created the background. I ink blended some Antique Linen Distress Oxide into the center of a white cardstock panel. Then, I used the stencil from this month’s kit to add more Antique Linen ink. The color added so much warmth to the card.
Now, I had no clue what colors to use to color each sushi image. I can’t eat much of it because of food allergies. When I’m not sure what colors to use for my coloring, I like to do a quick internet search to figure out what colors to use. In this case, I made sure to include cartoon images. It’s totally up to you what colors to use and the images can be any colors you want them to be.
My style of coloring is simple and I tend to like a little bit of texture in my coloring. Instead of blending the colors completely together in each transition, I like to leave a visible line of demarcation. I also like slightly fatter flicks on cartoonish images like these.
I hope you enjoyed this simple Copic colored card using stamps from the July Kit. Stop by the shop and get your kit.
