Hello again, it’s Kari! Today I’m excited to share my first card with the October 2018 Hedgehog Hollow Box!
I could not resist those cute ghosts, and they were the first stamps I colored. I pulled a few more things from the box: the orange gingham ribbon, orange cardstock, black Nuvo drops, and Spider brads.
I colored those ghosts with Copic markers in THREE different copic color selections. I wanted them to all look a little different. You could just as easily use any color medium you have.
For the first ghost with the little bow I used more of a blue undertone: B000, B00, BV00, and the colorless blender. Then I went over all of it with a little Brick White, E40.
The second ghost (in the middle) I used cool grays: C0, C1, and C3. I started with the C0 where I imagined the shadows to be the darkest (along the left side, and in the folds along the bottom of the image). Then I went over that with the darkest shade: C3. I blended that out with the C1, and finally the C0. I added a little more of the darkest shade for more depth.
For the last ghost with the mustache (isn’t he cute?!) I used Neutral Grays: N0, N1, N3. I followed the same process as the previous ghost for the shading and blending.
And I had to add a matching envelope! I used colored pencils on the envelope to make the ghost white, with some gray shadowing. And to finish it off and smooth out the pencil coloring, I burnished the ghost with a blending paper stump.
I hope you enjoyed these little ghost images today! See you next time!
