Hey y’all! It’s Jill from Jill Cameron Creations today and I’m Copic coloring for a masculine anniversary card. I am using stamps from the April Hedgehog Hollow kit for this card. Be sure to head over to the Shop and get your Monthly Kit today so you can get this Man Glitter stamp set because it’s AWESOME!

As usual, all of the products used are linked at the bottom of the post.

In the video, I go over all the things I did to make the card but here I want to discuss what steps this card up to the next level. Here’s the video so you can check that out now.

Stepping up a simple Copic colored masculine anniversary card is easy…if you step outside of the box. As card makers, we tend to go for the sparkle and shine stuff and most of the time that’s great. But what do you embellish a card with when it isn’t appropriate to use shiny, glittery, sparkly things? I actually had this discussion with a crafty friend and she reminded me of all the embellishments I had in my drawer of goodies.

I have things like eyelets, wooden elements, brads, and buttons. We forget about these cute little embellishments because they aren’t popular right now but they are PERFECT for a masculine card. So pull out those bad boys and use them!

To finish off this card, I used some wooden hearts in various sizes and shapes I had in my stash. Here are some other options for non-sparkly embellishments:

  • Copper-colored brads would also be a good choice with this color.
  • Add thread to a button or two in various sizes and use liquid adhesive to attach them to the card. You can even add a tiny bow with the thread and it’ll be okay.
  • Don’t forget about eyelets in a coordinating color.
  • Oh! What about metal elements? That would be amazing too!

I hope you enjoyed this Copic colored masculine card and more importantly how it was embellished!
