Hi, crafty friends! It’s Kari with a fun project for you. Today I have a card showcasing the March kit and highlighting the sentiment: “Crafters don’t lie, they embellish.” This sentiment made me laugh out loud! So of course, I had to create a card using it.

There’s a lot of opportunity to embellish cards, and today I using some sparkly sequins. First I stamped on the ink bottle, masked it off and stamped another behind it. Then I stamped on the fountain pen and sentiment.

I used some masking paper to mask off all the elements (including the sentiment). Then, it was easy to ink on the gray triangles in the background. I used a die cut panel to do this, but you could use a stencil. It would also look great with the ruler stencil from the kit!

I colored the ink bottles with alcohol markers and added a bunch of sequins coming out of the jars. A few sequins next to the fountain pen finished off the embellishments.

I stamped the fountain pen one more time onto some wood-grain paper I had in my stash, then fussy cut it out and popped it onto the pen on the card with foam adhesive. I’ve always wanted a wood grain fountain pen!

This is a fun project…and well embellished! Lol. Try different embellishments like gemstones, nuvo drops, stickles, stickers or whatever you have in your stash.

I hope you enjoyed this project today. I hope you got inspired to make a fun card using this kit. Be sure to tag #thehedgehoghollow in your posts so we can see what you create! I’ll be back soon with more to share.
