Hey, friends! It’s Marie here from MARIE NICOLE DESIGNS. I am excited to be guest posting with Hedgehog Hollow today! I was able to play with the amazing goodies in the February subscription box, and I have a pretty floral card to share today.

Stamp and Watercolor
I began my card by stamping out the floral heart image from one of the stamp sets in the subscription box. I used Bristol Smooth paper since I would be coloring with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. This is the only paper I will use with Zigs, as it gives the best results! I used some brown hybrid ink from Nuvo to stamp with, and then colored using some muted hues to provide a more vintage look. After my coloring was finished, I fussy cut around my heart and additional leaves.
Dry Emboss Your Background
To build the background for my watercolored pieces to sit on, I used an embossing folder on white cardstock to add a wood grain texture. Then, I die cut a scallop border at an angle along the bottom. I layered this white panel over some dark burgundy cardstock, which I stamped a few more florals on. You can see the stamped florals, but they are just a subtle pattern on the background of the card.
Add Your Sentiment
Once I had my background built, I added the floral heart with some more foam adhesive. Then, I used the sentiment stamps from the box to stamp and emboss the word “mom” in gold. I love these sentiment stamps! They were hand-lettered by my crafty friend Jess Francisco, and it is a fantastic feeling to be able to put her handwriting on my cards.
After my sentiment was popped up with some foam adhesive, I layered the leaves under it. Then, to finish off the card, I added a few clear sequins here and there for a little shine.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed a look at this floral card, and have gained some crafty inspiration with the subscription box.
