Hi there Hollowers! It’s Jen up on the blog today sharing a card using the January subscription box. If you love reading and books (I do!) this box is for you!
Today I am creating two shaker bookmarks but these stamps can also be used to create slimline or mini-slimline cards.
Do you ever have days when you just don’t want to color? Well, today was one of those days for me. So instead of coloring the image with markers or watercolor, I grabbed some bristol smooth cardstock and a few Catherine Pooler inks. I cut the cardstock to about 2 ¼ by 8. I then took the CP ink colors Be Mine and Party Dress and swiped the ink pads across the cardstock. Next, I spritzed the cardstock with water to move the ink around. I used my heat tool to move the water around creating patterns and also to dry the ink. After the ink was dry, I splattered the panel with clean water and some of the leftover ink on my surface. I repeated this process for the second bookmark using the colors All that Jazz and Daydream.
I then stamped the bookmark images onto the panels with Versafine Onyx Black ink. Next, I took the colored cardstock included and adhered that to the backside of each bookmark.
To create the shaker I brought out my WeRMemory Keepers Fuse tool. I used a page protector for the plastic shaker. I used the Fuse tool to seal the open edge of the page protector, leaving an opening at the top. I added my shaker pieces and then sealed the top with the Fuse tool.
This was pretty quick and easy and I love the sparkly shaker bits! This would be a great gift!
