Hello! It’s Kari here today with a Critters in the Woods card to share using the December Kit. These critters are adorable and I couldn’t stop at just one this time…so I colored up FOUR images for this card. I share some ink smooshing, foiling, and gel techniques in today’s card!
For the background, I first took some Bristol paper and ink smooshed it into four colors of blue Distress Inks. You can also use watercolor paper for this. I dried the card in between each time I added more ink to the card. Once the panel was dry, I added some Metallix Gel in pearl white to the tree stencil. I love this stencil! It is so fun to have trees to add…and you can use inks or pastes through this stencil. I colored the leaves with an alcohol marker.
I’m including a video here to show you how to create this card, watch it below or in HD on YouTube:
Once I had the background done, I set it aside to dry while I added glitter to the scarves. I simply used liquid adhesive and added some glitter. I waited for a while to allow the glue to dry before shaking off the excess glitter.
For the sentiment, I cut the “Thinking of You” out of the toner sheets and foiled it using some new Decofoil! I love this new Glass Slippers color of foil.
I cut some cardstock with a Deckled edge to use as the “ground” and popped up all the critters with foam squares. They are happy critters!
Thanks for stopping by today!
