Hi everyone! I am back on the Hedgehog Hollow blog today, Guest Designing for their Woodland Animals Subscription Box with this cute critter card! To view the subscription box, click here.
The Floral Hedgehog is a darling 3×4 stamp that is perfect for coloring. It’s part of the subscription kit, along with several other cute critters, sentiments, glitter, and candy! And the first thing I thought of was to make a birthday card for my 7-year-old granddaughter. Her birthday is Christmas Eve! She’ll LOVE this Hedgehog!
The first step was to stamp and frame out Henrietta the Hedgehog (you must know by now that I name my critters!) with a cute oval die. Then I die cut a larger piece on vellum and glued that behind Henrietta. I love the look of vellum!
Once that was finished, I colored Henrietta with Copic markers in Y11, Y15, Y17, YG05, YG09, RV04, RV09, RV17, B24, B28, BG45, BG94, C3, and BV13.
Next, it was time to match Henrietta the Hedgehog with a bright and cheerful background! I chose three coordinating pieces of birthday patterned paper from an older Catherine Pooler release and trimmed them down to A2 size.
Now I was able to adhere Henrietta to my card base using foam tape. I finished with a simple Happy Birthday sentiment, Nuvo shimmer, and Nuvo drops on the flowers for added interest!
My granddaughter loves my cards, and this cute critter card will be a big hit because of it’s bright, cheerful colors and, of course, an animal!
