Hi Hollowers!
***Before we get started with today’s post Iw ant to apologize for yesterday, Dick Black knowing I was focusing on Copics gave me a code that wasn’t valid on these products, I am currently reviewing my affiliation as we will not promote products form any company that does no uphold the customer service values of the Hollow, I will let you know what Dick Black say but at this point I will not be adding their links until this is resolved. Meanwhile, I recommend buying your Copics on Amazon, I have researched online and they seem to have the best prices on the markers, click here to view their selection, Simon Says Stamp also sell Copics individually and in sets, however they are a higher cost than amazon, you can get to their shop here or by clicking the SSS icon in the right sidebar. Please let me apologize again for this occurring we work hard to bring you the best products and vendors here at Hedgehog Hollow, those of you who emailed about the issue I have responded to you with the offer of a happy mail package to hopefully help heal the issue so please check your inboxes***
Wow! My new Topic feature seemed one of the most popular yet! We really do try to respond to ll feedback and requests so if something is bothering you or theres a technique you’d love to learn then please let us know! Today we will be adding to those skills with two more lessons! Just search our YouTube channel for ToolTurial to see previous ones. I have also linked a few up later down the post. Now without further ado I am overjoyed to tell you I am now part of Gina K’s affiliate program! I have bought Gina’s stamps for as long as I can remember, so to be working with her is a dream come true! Today we have two cards using the same stamp set and Copic colors; yet again we get completely different effects: I love the one on the left to send to someone who would like a more classic card, the one of the right is very modern and crisp. Today’s two tutorials are full of techniques to practice with your Copics; when starting out with Copics I would recommend in investing is a base set, the ones I showed you yesterday would be great. It depends what you want to color but for mainly a flower colorer I recommend two or three shades of pink or purple; but invest in 4 or 5 shades of green and one light yellow. If you want to know more about what inks and paper I recommend you can watch yesterday’s video and associated post. Nature is full of green and yellow undertones and these will help you get the best results, I would also recommend a blender pen as a great blender or touch up tool. You will find my favorite tool is a Q-tip for all sorts of crafting uses and your alcohol blending solution is great with Copics when used with embossing powder like our first video. I have ordered my favorite Q-tip holder to giveaway to you all plus a bottle of blending solution. Leave a comment below with your favorite card from this weeks release week before Midnight EST March 10th 2017. If you don’t win you can buy your own here. Full disclosure: I film the intro’s and video’s before I write the posts and I did these in the wrong order but lets rolls with it. First of all we are going to start with part 2 where are blending on vellum, the vellum is non-porous so you will find practicing your blending easier. We will also show you about different techniques on vellum to give you more intense results. Here is the finished card: I used the new Liquid Platinum embossing powder I bought from Ranger (link after the video), I love the sheen it gives you and the detail of the fine black powder on the sentiment: Here is the first video, for reference I used V25, BV01, RV04, RV63, YG00, FY1, B01, YG21, YG61 & YG17. Also, if you have never heat embossed or need some tips click here to go to our ToolTurial.
Here’s the links to what we used, I recommend Amazon or Simon Says Stamp for your Copics if you want to add to your collection, I also love this new vellum tape runner, so invisible and the best i’ve used yet:
Now, lets practice our coloring on white card stock, I recommend Neenah Solar White for Copics, in fact its a great all rounded to work with lots of mediums, it has a slight sheen which is great for blending. I stamped the image with My Favorite Things Hybrid ink. Hybrid ink is great for any coloring medium alcohol or water based…or both! It takes all the guesswork out of which ink to use (see link below the video). Here is the second card: It so different considering its the same stamp set and Copics, I added an extra shade of yellow (YG01), blue (B91), lilac (BV00). I also used the Hero Arts ombre pad again on the sentiment, look at how beautiful those shades of blue and green are (see links below the video): Now lets get practicing together:
This tips will take some practicing, don’t worry if its not perfect the first time. I have been at this for years and I don’t proclaim to be an expert but i’m sharing what I know and as my skills grow I will keep sharing with you. Again here are the links for the second card:
I hope you enjoyed growing your Copic skills today. We will continue this series over the coming months, keep practicing! Today’s comments winner will be announced during a special extra facebook live at noon tomorrow (saturday) EST on the Hedgehog Hollow Facebook page. Be sure to join in next week for more launches and giveaways, plus on Sunday I will have an extra ToolTurial post on the Vagabond plus a very special offer! Happy stamping!
I really like all of the cards presented this week, to pick one is a tough challenge. Like you I also like Gina K stamps, thrilled that you are part of her team.

We are thrilled too, looking forward to trying more of her designs
Your q-tip holder is cute.
I have used Copics before in card classes. I had a hard time with them. You make it look easy.
Thanks for the tips.
I’m going back to basics so we can build up the techniques, try vellum or glossy cardstock to practise blending
Thanks for more excellent tips!
Happy colouring!
Thanks for all the tips I have been wanting to experiment with Copics and now feel ready! I have loved all the cards! I like the three tone sentiment from today’s though 😉
I’m so glad we have given you the confidence to try
I have a hard time picking one favorite! They are all my favorite! Thank you for sharing all your tips. Must say, I haven’t invested in any copic markers yet. Maybe I’ll be lucky and win. Keep up all your great posts.
We have another week of great launches and a special end of the week post
Both cards are just beautiful! Thanks for showing us the one on vellum (probably my favorite card of the week, since you asked); that is something I’d like to get better at. I’ll be sure to watch your ToolTurial on embossing too; I hope it includes some tips on working with vellum. Also, I’ve been searching for a good vellum tape, so I’m excited to see you’ve got one linked up 😀
Thanks for 2 more great videos!
The tape is a winner, let us know any questions you have on embossing if we don’t cover them
HI Alexandre- have to say my favourite card is the one on vellum. The card is so elegant. Look forward to your next affiliate.

Loved the coloring on vellum video. The vellum adhesive looks amazing! Thank you Alexandra for all your inspiration. I love how you are not only showing the techniques, but also answering everyones questions. Walking us through how to make comments, etc.
As for your apology, it is totally unnecessary. You can not control the companies you are affiliated with. But, by upholding your own standards, you are protecting your brand . Your integrity speaks volumes. Good for you!

Both cards are nice but I think I like the one done on vellum best. I have been looking for an adhesive for vellum that doesn’t show through so this is a nice idea. I like your q-tip holder too.

I’m a frudtrated SU demo of 5 years. So bored with the same thing. I will probably continue to buy paper, ink and ribbon because they match so well. I’m addicted to the products offered by SSS. Giving up my status with SU and will be ordering through my sideline. A lot of my frustration came from no support from my up line. Glad to get inspiration thru HHH. Thank you.
Thank you so much, your comments mean the world to us
Love the lesson on comics. Loved the lesson 2 blending tutorial

Thank you so much, I found this thread that quite old http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/tool-product-talk-f128/updated-copic-spectrum-noir-color-comparisons-t575304.html but this seems a little more up to date http://irenescardcreations.blogspot.com/2014/08/corinne-jones-and-myself-have-been.html

Love to watch anyone colouring with comics as I am hopeless with the few I have. Thanks for the inspiration!
I wish I could give you a magic tip but its all about practise, start with vellum and glossy card stock as it will take longer for the pens to dry giving you more time to blend
