Hi all!
I hope you’ve all been having fun playing with your April Hedgehog Hollow Box – I have! I just love those little birds, and they’re great for practicing your Copic coloring. The Nuvo Hybrid Black ink in the box is perfect for Copic coloring.
I created two cards today, each featuring the same color scheme on the birds, but in different way. The Copics I used were: BG45, BG10 for the main part of the birds, and Y17 and Y21 for the tummy and beaks.
For my first card I stamped the little birds all over a panel of X-Press It cardstock which is Copic friendly in the Nuvo Hybrid Black Shadow ink from the box. I colored in the birds and added a line of C3 and C1 under them for shadow.
I used the Nuvo Midas Touch pen (included for regular subbies) as a paint pen and spattered gold all over the panel. When it was dry I adhered the panel directly to one of the Art Impressions card bases. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of black cardstock in embossing ink and heat embossed in white embossing powder to finish.
For my second card, I drew a line directly onto the Art Impressions card base with a black Micron fineliner. I stamped the birds on a separate piece of X-Press It and colored them in as before. I then die cut them out and popped them up on foam tape on the line (or ‘wire’).
I stamped the sentiment directly to the card base in the Nuvo Black Shadow ink. I then used some yellow ink in two different shades and a blender brush to blend on some ‘sunshine’ in the corner. I then spattered some more Nuvo Shimmer Pen in Midas Touch for good measure!
Such happy bright cards for Spring – those birds!!!
