Hey crafty friends! It’s Jess and I’m back to share a fun card using the interactive components from the October 2019 subscription box. We are creating a fun double dial interactive Christmas card. I’ve got a video tutorial for you below or you can read on for all the details!

To get started with my card, I used the dies to cut out my card panel, dial piece, and the ‘arm’ piece. I used brads to attach everything in a trial run to be sure I understood how all of the pieces coordinated together before I built my scene. Once I was sure I understood how it all worked, I started working on my card.

I used Distress Oxides in Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon, Faded Jeans, and Chipped Sapphire to blend out a pretty winter scene. I decided to do some alcohol marker coloring so I grabbed my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and got to work. I chose the adorable Santa, roof and chimney, and created a stack of presents for my scene using full sticky post it notes. Once all of my stamping and coloring was done, I fussy cut all my images and moved on to my card assembly.

I used two layers of foam dots to pop up the chimney and roof pieces so that my Santa had room to go ‘into ‘the chimney. I attached my Santa and stack of presents to the brads on their corresponding interactive elements and stamped out the reindeer in the sky. I popped up the panel on foam so there was room for the elements to move behind the scene. I also heat embossed the sentiment on black cardstock and trimmed it at an angle. I adhered this to my card front and mounted the whole card front to a white A2 sized card base.

That finished off my card and I’m pretty happy with the way this turned out. Have you tried this unique interactive die set yet? I’d love to see what you’ve been up to, so be sure to tag me on social media with @acarddayswork and @thehedgehoghollow so I can see!

Hugs and love,
