Hello and Happy Thursday! It’s Amanda Fitterer here and I hope you’re all having a fantastic week! It’s almost the weekend so just hang in there! 🙂
Did you get your September Subscription box before it was too late? This box was available up to September 14th. If you missed it, check here to see if it’s available as a “One-Off”!
There have been so many blog posts using this September box that are so inspiring! If you missed my last post, click here to see it!
I love that The Hedgehog Hollow Boxes come with everything you need to make a few cards! This September box even has pearlescent cardstock included with it. There are 3 gorgeous colors included – purple, blue, and orange. It also comes with some bright envelopes, including green, blue, and pink. There are even some slimline envelopes included!
For these projects, I didn’t want to cover up the beautiful colors, so I decided to make them the focal point by only using white embossing powder on them!
To make the bookmarks, I used a Rounded Tag Punch, 3-in-1 Corner Punch, and a Reinforcement Hole Punch by Dress My Craft. The blue pearlescent cardstock was included in the box. I cut them down to 2″ x 4.25″ before using the punches to make them into bookmarks. I used 2 pieces of purple and white baker’s twine for each bookmark. To make my reinforcement holes green, I used YG01 Copic marker to color them.
For both the bookmarks and the card, I used Ranger Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder in White. I stamped the images from the Sugar Skulls Stamp Set and the Dia De Los Muertos Stamp Set (included in the September box) with Versamark Watermark ink. I used a heat tool to heat emboss the powder. I cut the purple pearlescent cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″. The subscription box also includes 5.5″ x 8.5″ white cardstock to be used as the card base. I scored one of these pieces at the 4.25″ mark and then mounted my purple cardstock to it.
