Hello! It’s Kari with a fall card using the beautiful florals from the August 2019 Kit. These flowers designed by Alex Syberia are some of my favorites! So I wanted to create a more fall feeling by coloring them up with oranges, pinks, and yellows.
I am always needing thank you cards, so I used the “thank you” sentiment in the stamp set to stamp on patterned paper. I added gold glitter paper as a frame backer for them to bring in some sparkle.
Once I had the coloring done (colored with alcohol markers), this card came together quickly! I used patterned paper for the background and for the sentiment. So simple and it adds so much. Imagine using different colors to create a whole new look and feel to this card. In fact, I started out using a teal paper for the background, but finally settled on the yellow diamond paper.
To get this beautiful shade, I used a technique called “Glazing.” I started out with some pinks and yellows alcohol markers, then “Glazed” over each of the petals with a light orange to create that deep, rich color. So pretty! Try out your colors in your stash to see what colors you can create with this glazing technique.
I popped up the largest flower with two layers of foam tape, and the smaller orange flower with one layer of foam tape. I love getting that extra dimension on a card with multiple layers. I hope you enjoyed this fall floral card today! These flowers make such a wonderful arrangement.
See you next time!
