Adam here with a Father’s Day card for the up and coming special day. The latest Hedgehog Hollow release offers some great stamps and ephemera to create masculine cards for all occasions. It is easy to be creative with these products.
This card is for my dad, an avid golfer, so the ‘Men at Play’ Stamp Set was the perfect stamp set to start the card. I stamped the golfer in dark green to represent the greens of the golf course. I decided the golf ball and tee from the ephemera package included in the kit would work well with the golfer stamp.
Now for the card’s foundation, I have chosen a green plaid, a black and a craft paper. Each layer is cut as layers of a 6”x6” card. I wanted the black layer to show only 1/8” around the craft paper layer and the plaid layer to be 1/4” around the black layer. This worked best considering the width of the stamp. I felt the craft paper was too plain once I assembled the layers. I used the ‘Splatter’ red rubber stamp (Style 2) to add random spots in brown onto the layer.
I assembled all the layers and added the focal image that I stamped the sentiment on using red ink. This was attached using foam tape to give dimension to the card. I attached the golf ball to the golf tee from the ephemera package and glued it centered behind the sentiment. For a final touch I added a few acrylic bubbles to give the allusion of dimensional golf balls.
I hope you will create your own spin on this card and that favorite man in your life enjoys getting it.
