Hello! It’s Kari V. here with a beautiful floral heart and gemstones card to share. Today I was so excited to create with the February 2020 Kit. It’s filled with beautiful florals and inspiring sentiments. My eyes fell on that floral heart, and I was IN LOVE!
Today, I paired that heart with some gemstones for a sparkly, floral card for a special friend.
I first stamped down that floral heart image with Amalgam ink. I like this ink because it doesn’t smear when you color with alcohol markers. Then I colored up that image with the following Copic Markers:
Flowers: RV19, RV05, RV02
Leaves: YG05, G43
Berries and small flowers: BG13, BG11
This image is so relaxing to color, in my opinion, and I just had fun listening to music as I colored. Once that was finished, I inked on some Distress ink with blending brushes around the edges. First with Picked Raspberry, then with Dusty Concord to darken up the very corners.
I then cut out the banner die and stamped the “Special Friend” stamp on it, bending the stamp to fit the banner direction. I used an original Misti to do this but used some acetate on top of the banner to line up the stamp first…this way, you can bend the stamp, and it will stick to the acetate until you pick up the stamp with the Misti lid.
I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink to get a crisp sentiment. Then I popped up the banner with 1/4″ double-sided foam tape.
I used my new favorite embellishment wand to attach those gemstones to the card across the front of the card diagonally. They’re so pretty, aren’t they? I have linked all the supplies below, if you are interested, except these gems (I think they are discontinued…sorry!)
I love how this card turned out, and I hope it inspires you to create something beautiful with the new February Kit! See you next time,
