Hi there Hollowers! Thanks for joining me today as I create this super cute slimline card using the December Subscription Box. Who can resist cute little forest critters? Not me!
Today I’m starting off by cutting a piece of white Hammermill cardstock to 3.5 x 8.5. This will be my slimline card base. The slimline die that I will be using is from Kat Scrappiness and it is called Slimline Foliage Frame. Please note that this die is from my stash and is NOT included in the subscription box.
To create a panel for the slimline die, I used a piece of Strathmore Bristol smooth cardstock. I did some easy ink blending using the colors Green Tea and Eucalyptus from Catherine Pooler.
Next, I placed the foliage frame die on the ink blended cardstock and ran this through my die cut machine. And since I’ve been splatter happy these days with a lot of the cards I make, I splattered the frame with Kuretake Starry Nights watercolors as well as some Kuretake white opaque ink. I also splattered the background panel with the Starry Nights.
I then stamped out several of the Forest Friends images using Versafine Black ink. I watercolored the images using Tombow brushmarkers and then used my Scan N Cut to cut them out.
I ran the foliage frame die through my die cut machine again so that I could add some dimension to the frame. But first, I used the die cut as a guide to blend a little bit of the Green Tea & Eucalyptus ink left over on my blending brush to lightly add color to the background panel.
To complete the card, I adhered the two bears and bunny to the background panel. I then adhered the stacked foliage frame onto the background panel. I adhered the moose and the deer on the outside of the foliage frame and the finished off the card by adding a few sequins.
I love the supplies included in December’s box! So many ideas! I’ll have another one for you next week, see you then!
