Hey friends, it’s Jess! I’m back with a fresh and clean spring vibe card for you today. Sometimes, I get into a slump and I tend to recreate the same card over and over – whether it’s a color palette or a layout etc. When I want to get those creative juices flowing again, I try to change something up and pick a color, theme, or layout I wouldn’t normally default to. For today’s card, I went with a different color!
To start things off, I did some repeat stamping with the leaf image from the Mother’s Day stamp set. I stamped these with an acrylic block and used the Green Hills color of the Hero Arts Shadow Inks. I love this bright green! When I do my repeat stamping, I make sure to start in the center of my panel and work my way outwards so that I don’t end up with any weird gaps in the pattern.
Once my stamping was done, I pulled out the Feminine Words stamp set and snagged the ‘girlfriend’ stamp – I also used the new March box stamp set I helped illustrate. I am still shocked every time I pull out the stamp sets and see my hand lettering there! So cool! I used a piece of black cardstock and stamped the sentiments in clear embossing ink. I treated the surface with anti-static powder first and then melted the embossing powder with my heat tool.
I used a sharp pair of scissors and cut out the ‘girlfriend’ and then used my paper trimmer to cut the rest of the sentiment. I popped each of these pieces up on foam tape to add a bit of dimension and then adhered the card panel to a white A2 sized card base. I finished off the card with a few clear sequins.
I hope you love today’s card with a fresh and clean spring vibe. I love being able to refresh my crafty inspiration by choosing a color palette that I wouldn’t normally default to. Do you have something you do when you don’t have inspiration or motivation to create? Let us know! Hugs and love,
