Hello! It’s Jill from Jill Cameron Creations! Today I’m sharing a totally geometric slimline card using elements from the June 2020 Hedgehog Hollow kit. Check out the video below to see the die-cuts, stamps, and patterned paper included in this month’s kit.
How-to: Geometric Slimline Card
There are several sizes of slimline cards out there. The measurements of the finished card are 9″ x 4 1/4″. I just trim off 2 inches from the long side of the cardstock. I score just like I would if it were a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card.
Next, I painted all of the geometric shapes included in the kit. I used acrylic paints and Distress Oxide sprays. Acrylic paints clean up easy enough but sometimes they can stain so make sure you use a mixed media mat or a piece of scrap paper.
After the paint dried on all of the elements, I sprayed them with Perfect Pearls. I have an old bottle of the Perfect Pearls spray that I just keep refilling and making my own.
Then, I stamped the background panel of the card. I used a dark chocolate ink color and the geometric shape from the Kind stamp set included in the kit.
Next, I glued all of the geometric shapes to the card front using liquid adhesive. I highly recommend liquid adhesive for these as they are a little heavier than a normal embellishment.
I didn’t have a large enough hello sentiment in my stash so I created the one in the size I wanted to use in Silhouette Studio and cut it out on my Silhouette Cameo. I coated the die-cut word in clear glitter brush marker and a thick coat of Glossy Accents.
For the final touch on the card, I added Nuvo Drops in Ivory Seashell here and there. I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s card and don’t forget to head over to the Hedgehog Hollow shop and get your card kit today.
