Hello! It’s Kari here with an airbrushed-look background to share. This background may look smooth and airbrushed, but you don’t need a machine to get this look! I’m using images from the March 2020 Kit for this card today.
I used Catherine Pooler inks in a rainbow of bright colors for this one! First, I added the color to the background. Then I stamped the “paint trails” using blue, green, and pink.
To see how I got that airbrushed look, watch my video below or in HD on YouTube:
For the paint tubes, I colored them up with alcohol markers, and fussy cut them out. To make it look like a perfect cut, I went around the edges with a black felt-tipped pen. Then I popped them up with foam squares onto the card panel.
I stamped the sentiment “you got this” with black Versafine ink, and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. This is a great trick when you don’t want to smear the image after using a slow-drying ink.
It may look like I matted this with glitter paper…and that’s the look I was going for! But instead I cut a frame so I wouldn’t waste the inside of that paper….glitter paper is way too beautiful to hide behind a card panel, don’t you agree?
I colored and fussy cut the paint palette and paintbrush. In the set, that paintbrush is attached to a word, but I just wanted the brush. So I cut the word apart after stamping it.
This card came together so fast! I love that.
I hope you enjoyed this card with an airbrushed-look background today. It’s super easy and creates a soft, beautiful background! I’ll be back soon with more card kit inspiration. 🙂
