Today we have a clean and simple card for Thanksgiving. We are using fall ephemera and a leaf stencil from the new Hedgehog Hollow release. The first decision was the size of the card. This is a standard 5×7 inch card. It needed to be this size in order to be able to use one of the sentiments from the ephemera set.

The next step was to pick out the ephemera to be used on the card. If you notice, I cut up some pieces and aged them. The plan was to place the pieces above and below the sentiment. Once it was arranged I no longer liked the look. So it was back to square one. I picked different pieces and did not age them. Lesson learned is not to fret about choices just make new ones and continue on with the project.

I moved on to the background layer. I used the leaf stencil to create a fall looking background. I chose fall colors and blended them onto a layer one &or a 5×7 card. Again I was not completely happy. I decided to add a splatter of black paint to “age” the layer.

The next step was to pick a card base color to go with the fall colors used on the card.

The final step was to assemble all of the pieces. I also added a few enamel dots and some twine to complete the card. I hope you are ready to start your fall/Thanksgiving card’s and this blog helped you on your way.
