Hi there, crafty friends! Jen here on the blog today with two cards using the always amazing Hedgehog Hollow Box for June.

I had such a hard time trying to choose which elements to use because there are so many awesome things to choose from. I ended up with two cards that are perfect for celebrating Independence Day.

Card 1

I used the striped paper for this cut down to 4 x 5.25 and matted onto a 4 ¼ x 5 ½ piece of shimmer cardstock. I then took the reverse side of the strip of leftover paper and matted that as well. Next, foam was added to the back of this strip and adhered to the card.

To keep with the tones of the pattern paper, I stamped up the group of gnomes from the 6×8 stamp set using Versafine Sepia. To add a bit of color, the stars on the firecracker were then colored with colored pencils. After the image was fussy cut, adhesive was added and the image was tucked under the strip of pattern paper.

The Stars & Stripes ephemera was popped up with foam and added to the bottom of the card.

A little sparkle was added with a few Rollerskates Crown Jewels.

Card 2

What can I say about this card? It was full of mistakes! From smeared paste to uneven cutting, it was a fun one!

As with Card 1, I chose a pattern paper for the background and matted this to a piece of shimmer cardstock.

Then the sunglasses stencil was taped over a piece of white cardstock. I added color to the stencil by dragging Color Hive Vegas Strip ink over the stencil until the stenciled image looked solid. The stencil was removed and the stenciled portion fussy cut.

Next, I used the stars and stripes portion (the lenses) of the same stencil. Nuvo Moonstone paste was added over the stars portion. Polish was added over the stripes portion. These were dried partially by air drying and by using a heat tool. Once dry, these were fussy cut.

To assemble the card, several pieces of ephemera were added to the background. The sunglasses were then adhered over that. Each of the lenses from the sunglasses was popped up with foam and added onto the sunglasses. Several more piece of ephemera were added to complete the card.

I hope you create something today! Thanks so much for stopping by!
