Hey everyone! Ashlea here once more to share another one of my projects using the December box featuring Pretty Pink Posh! This time I focused on the stencil and word die included in the box and they work perfectly together.
I just love stencils! They are, in my opinion, one of the most versatile things to you have in your craft room and they are super affordable. Today, I used the firework stencil to dry emboss the image onto my card front by placing the stencil on top of my card front and sending it through my die cutting machine just as you would a die. To make the impression a little more prominent, it helps to give the card stock a quick spritz of water. To add some sparkle because, well, this is New Years we’re celebrating, I used a glitter spray just before sending it through my die cutting machine. The glitter spray gives a really beautiful sparkle and shine to the card.
I cut the “Happy New Year” die out of black card stock twice and stacked it on top of one another with glue to make the cuts a little more sturdy. I then used glue to adhere the die cuts to the center of my card front, just a bit tilted to add a little whimsy. I stamped, colored, and die cut the small party hat and large horn and added them to the card front with foam tape. I then added glossy accents to the horn to make it appear shiny.
Finally, I adhered it all to an A2 sized black card base to add some contrast. After I glued a few sequins on for sparkle, I was completely finished! I hope that you have enjoyed learning a little about how I created this card. I have thoroughly enjoyed guest designing with The Hedgehog Hollow this month and seeing what all of you have been creating with this box. Thank you for stopping by today!
