Hello…it’s Kari with a project using the new embossing powders in the July kit! These embossing powders are beautiful and today I wanted to share a favorite technique for them. Gather together your favorite stencils for this one!
This is a first for having embossing powders designed by the Hedgehog Hollow in a kit! They are gorgeous and definitely worthy of a full panel background.
Here’s a look at the beautiful embossing powders [from left to right]: Plum Shift Craft, Coppertone Shift, Everything Glitter but Rose, and Black & Gold.
To make these panels, attach a stencil to your cardstock panel. Press versafine (or another sticky embossing ink) through the stencil. Remove the stencil and add the embossing powder to the inked panel. Heat set with a heat gun.
Here are some close up looks to these panels:
I created a bunch of these in one sitting, all ready for cards! I turned two into cards by cutting them down slightly and adding a black cardstock layer, then attaching them to card bases.
I used a sentiment from the sentiment set and heat embossed it with one of the embossing powders. I framed it with another layer of cardstock that was completely embossed with one of the powders.
To finish them off, I popped up the flower stems designed by Sophia Caldwell with 3D foam tape. I colored these images in with Prismacolor pencils.
Simple cards with lots of shine! These look great with the kraft envelopes included in the kit!
I hope I inspired you to try these embossing powders with some stencils in your stash! I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
Kari
Very pretty. I’ve been wanting to work with those embossing powders – some great inspiration!
I have really been working with stencils lately and I have never done this!
What a great idea!
