Hello again! It’s Kari V. here with a card using the 2 step stencil from the February 2020 Kit. I love this stencil, and today I have a short video on how to bling it up with Glitz Glitter Gel. I’m also using that beautiful hand-lettered stamp set in the kit.

This stencil is so fun to use…you can add a second layer when you use the inner stencil pieces also. I found that a quick way to add those pieces was with a little repositionable adhesive.

Check out the video below for some secrets I’m sharing on the best ways I’ve found (or watch it on YouTube).

To begin this card, I put the larger portion of the stencil on Neenah Solar White 80# paper with purple tape. I used a blender brush to add a light layer of turquoise ink, adding extra ink in the center of each teardrop. Then I added the second layer of stencil (the teardrop shapes). I removed the larger stencil temporarily to add some stripes to the background.

The reason I added the stripes first was because I knew that glitter gel would take a while to dry and I didn’t want to mess up that glitter gel!

Once the stripes were done, I put that larger portion of the stencil BACK on to add the glitter gel portion. I found that using the diagonal media spatula worked really well for this.

As that glitter gel was drying, I heat embossed a gold glittery “Bestie” sentiment onto black cardstock. I cut it out with my scissors, leaving a small black border around the word.

I stamped the HELLO from another stamp set in my stash then added the Bestie with foam tape.

Doesn’t it look so pretty? Such a fun stencil and beautiful lettering.

I hope you enjoyed this project today. I’ll be back real soon with some more inspiration!
