Hello! Happy Thanksgiving to all the families celebrating in the United States tomorrow! It’s Jill from Jill Cameron Creations here today with a simple and beautiful card using the stamps from the November Hedgehog Hollow kit.
Something we always did when I was a kid was to make a fresh wreath every Christmas for the front door of the house. We never made holly wreaths (can you imagine how painful that could be?) but when I saw this little stamp I thought it would make an amazing wreath.
I used the Wreath Builder Stencil from Gina K Designs to create a wreath. When you make your wreath just make sure the image will fit in the diameter of the wreath you want to create. I stamped it on Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock using Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. I stamped the bow too. Can’t have a wreath without a bow!
Then, I Copic colored the images without blending any of the colors. I used a dark color and a light color. I colored one single line of dark color along the side of the leaf in dark green (G28) and then filled in the rest of the leaf image with the lighter green (G24). This technique creates whimsy in the wreath image.
I filled in the berries and the bow with a light (R27) and dark red (R39) using the same technique.
I added Clear Aqua Shimmer Pen to the leaves and Glossy Accents to the berries to make them all shine and sparkle.
For the background, I used one of my favorite stamps from Concord & 9th. Notice it’s not stamped perfect. And that’s totally okay. It adds to the character of the card.
I popped up my sentiment in the middle of the wreath on foam tape.
I hope you enjoyed this fun card and give it a try yourself. Don’t forget to head over to the Hedgehog Hollow shop and get your November kit today.
