Hi Krafty Friends! Jen, from Katahdin Krafts, on the blog today with two cards I created using the stencils from this months Subscription Box.

Starting my project this week I used Pixie Spray on the back of the “Hopeful Rainbow” stencil. I placed my sticky stencil onto a 5.5″ x 4.25″ white cardstock panel, turning it slightly sideways. I used Maker Forte inks in “Grand Canyon”, “English Mustard”, “Red Leicester” and “Telephone Box” to blend the stencil image onto my cardstock. I lightly blended the same colors on the edges of my cardstock, giving it a coordinating background. Next, I stamped “Thank you” from the “Thanks for Caring” stamp set under the rainbow. I added three “Solar Flare” gems onto the bottom left hand corner to finish off my card panel.

I cut a 5.5″ x 8.5″ piece of cardstock and scored it at the 4.25″ mark, and stamped “for your compassion” in the inside of the card base. I then adhered my card panel to the card base.

My next stenciled card began with a 5.5″ x 3.75″ panel cut from watercolor paper. When I blended the top card, I used a mat to wipe off the excess ink from my brushes before blending. This left some ink on the mat, I then sprayed the mat with water and smooshed my watercolor paper onto the ink, making a pretty watercolored background. I then used Pixie Spray on the “Beat of My Heart” stencil, and used “Red Leicester” ink on the stencil. I stamped “Caring is a work of heart” onto the top left hand corner, and adhered three “Solar Flare” gems to the bottom right hand corner (this gives nice balance). I then cut a piece of black cardstock to 5.5″ x 4″ and center my card panel onto the mat. Then I adhered the whole panel onto a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base.

Finishing off this card today I stamped my sentiment into the middle of my card base, and added a little extra stamp for some extra interest.

I loved making these cards! I really love Maker Forte’s inks, I love the vibrancy of them and how they are water reactive. Look at that beautiful watercolored look! Thank you so much for krafting with me again this week. I will see you soon with some more inspiration for this months subscription box! Happy krafting!
