Stencils are one of the most versatile tools in a craft room. They are relatively inexpensive and can be used with a multitude of mediums. You can trace, paint, gesso, spray and color them. I have been playing with the stencil from this month’s kit. It has been a lot of fun! I pulled out the pigment powder we received in the October kit to create three stunning backgrounds. It is easy to create different card bases with Nuvo Shimmer Powder and the stencil from the December Hedgehog Hollow Box. All you need is water, small mist bottle, spray bottle and modeling paste. As promised in the video, the three cards I created with these backgrounds:

Not only is creating your own background fun, they are also fun to receive! By incorporating silver embossed foil paper as the backdrop, it gives it a festive classy look. The extra details like adding pop dots to the images and sequence really set each one apart. Don’t forget to think about adding top hats to our title for an extra element of excitement.

Until next time ~ Happy crafting!
