Hello again! It’s Kari V. here with a sweet little card using the stamps from the Hedgehog Hollow December kit. The little bird just jumped right out at me, and I created a little nest for him using one of the swirl stamps!
I first stamped that little bird on using Copic-friendly ink. Then I stamped on the “nest” with light brown ink and a dark brown ink near the bottom of the nest. I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder. At this point, it was not easy to read because it was white embossing on white paper.
So I inked on some Peacock Feathers using a soft makeup brush…I built up the color slowly to give it a soft look. I colored up that little bird with Copic Markers and added some dots with colored pencils to give it texture. I also added some brown pencil to the nest for more definition.
I die cut the front panel with a cross-stitched rectangle die, then cut down the outer rectangle too so I could add just a peek of glittery paper to the very back. I popped up the smallest rectangle with foam tape.
Lastly, for the finishing touches, I added some Jewel Nuvo drops.
This was a fun, easy card to put together, and I think it makes for such a sweet valentine. I hope you enjoyed this project. I’ll be back soon with more inspiration!
