Hello again! It’s Kari V. here with a card featuring the interactive die from the October Kit and some cute Halloween Ghosts from a previous kit.
This interactive die can really be used with any stamps and supplies you already have, which makes it so versatile! There’s a bit of a Haunted House going on here:
I started coloring up the chimney image from the October Kit with Neutral Gray Copics. I drew in some spiderwebs on what is usually “the snow.” I just used a Copic Multiliner to quickly draw those in.
For the background, I started with gray paper and heat embossed a large spider web stamp from my stash. Then I inked on three Distress Oxide inks with a domed blender tool.
I allowed the ink to dry fully.
Once it was dry I used the iron-off technique to remove the embossing powder from the front of the card. To do this, place a piece of computer paper over the embossed image and run a warm iron over the top. The embossing powder comes off onto the computer paper, leaving your background completely flat! The spider web shows through to the dark gray paper underneath.
The reason I did this was to allow me to stamp that large “BOO” sentiment over the top of the flat image. So cool! (I didn’t want to have a large sentiment strip for this card.)
I attached all the images to the dial and slider arms with brads. I added one of the spider brads (from the earlier kit also). Then I attached the panel with foam tape to the black card base. To see a video on how to put together this interactive die, I have an earlier explanation video here.
When you turn the dial, the ghosts pop up!
These ghosts are just too cute to spook! This die would be so perfect for so many images and scenes! I hope you will try it out with supplies in your stash. I can’t wait to see what you create!
