A big hello from Sandhya! Today I have the honor of sharing two kawaii sushi cards using the July 2020 Hedgehog Hollow Subscription Box with all of you. This month’s kit is full of cute foods with Kawaii personalities and I had fun playing with them.

I started by stamping out all the sushi guys and Mr. Soy on white cardstock using Copic friendly ink. Then I colored them with Copic markers and fussy cut the images.

For my first card, I used the stencil that came with the kit to blend some Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide on a white card panel measuring 4” X 5.25”. I trimmed a piece of woodgrain pattern paper from my stash to be my tray and adhered it to the panel.

Next, I stamped the ‘Soy happy together’ sentiment on a strip of white cardstock. I arranged all the fussy cut images on my tray to my liking and adhered them down. Then, I lay some of them flat and used foam tape to pop up some sushi and the sentiment for dimension. After that, I matted the panel with the red cardstock that came with the kit and adhered it to a white A2 card base.

For my second card, I thought it might be fun to line up the sushi on a slimline card. So, I trimmed some white cardstock to 7” X 8.5” and scored it and folded it in half for my card base. Next, I used an SVG file to cut out a slatted panel to go over it. Then, I stamped and trimmed the sentiment for this card and kept it ready.

Once I decided on the placement of Mr. Soy and my sushi guys, I blended the leftover ink in my blending brush directly on my card base. This created a soft halo for the Kawaii personalities. After that, I adhered the slatted panel over the card base. Then, I popped on my soy, sushi personas, and sentiment with foam tape.

I hope you are enjoying this fun kit, and thank you for stopping by today. If you liked my kawaii sushi cards, do leave me a comment telling me which one did you like more!
