Hi Everyone!

It’s Jenny here, joining you today with one of my favorite techniques – using glitter paste with watercolor powders.   Today I’m using clear glitter paste (I’m using Gina K’s White Glintz), and Nuvo Shimmer Powders, which have a touch of mica for extra shimmer.

I’m using the floral stencil from the May 2019 Hedgehog Hollow Box, which has since sold out but the brand new July 2019 box is now available which features stamps by the same artist Sophia J. Caldwell. I adhered the stencil with spray adhesive to a panel of watercolor cardstock and using a palette knife, added the glitter paste over the entire panel.

Before removing the stencil I added Nuvo Shimmer Powder on the stencil.  I used Atlantis Burst on the leaves, Lilac Waterfall, Violet Brocade for the flowers, and Cherry Bomb to the branches.  I then spritzed with water  allowing the powder to wick out and soak into the paste.  I then laid a paper towel over the top, taking up some of the water (don’t push down or it will smush the paste).  If you pick up too much color you can always add more, but usually, I just add a few more water spritzes and you’ll discover color wicks out more, then repeat with a paper towel.  Once happy, sop up any excess water, remove the stencil, and set aside to dry.

When the panel was dry, I trimmed it down and adhered it to a grey card base. For my sentiment, I heat embossed a sentiment from the box in white embossing powder on grey cardstock, and popped it up on foam tape.   I also adhered a Hugs chipboard sentiment from the box directly onto the dried glitter paste.

It’s super fun to ‘color in’ with watercolor powder, give it a go!
