I like card kits and I’ve learned to use them up withing the month that I receive them. I try to use all the patterned paper and ephemera bits, along with any other consumable parts before the next kit arrives.

With the BBQ kit from August, I created a scrapbook layout, a travelers notebook page, and now a quick card.

I chose to layer the patterned papers together for this card. To make it work so that each pattern would pop and be distinct, I separated them with a mat of coordinating colored cardstock in between.

A scrap of course!

I also used small borders on my papers so just a bit of the bottom pattern peeks out.

Once again, I used a scrap of the cardstock to add a strip across my card. This gives my ephemera bits an anchor and breaks up the pattern. It helps my focal point stand out a bit more.

I added a few clear crown jewel gems to finish off my card as well.
