Hello! It’s Kari here with some cards to share with the August 2021 Kit! This kit is full of fall stamps, stencils, and ephemera. It’s so easy to make a beautiful card with these supplies! Today I have two cards to share using only the stencils and ephemera.
I share the process and the unboxing in the video below, or in HD on YouTube:
For this first card, I used the Leaves layering stencil. I love this stencil! It has leaves of different shapes and acorns, too. The layers make it so easy to add different colors of leaves. I like to add at least two colors of each shade to get more dimension on my stencils.
I did add one additional stencil from my stash to this (a plaid stencil)…to add a little texture to the larger leaves and acorn tops! (Be sure to watch the video to see how I did this easily!) Hint: The Layering Placement Tool is so helpful!!
The gems are some of my favorites from Maker Forte: the Phoenix gems! They are a gorgeous fall orange color and really add a pop to this card.
I cut the white border off the Thankful ephemeral and popped it up on the stenciled panel. Then I added a couple of the heart ephemera. Oh, and I also added some gold GLITTER tape to the bottom of the panel! (I couldn’t resist!)
For this one, I used the apple layering stencil, which is A2 panel size so it’s so easy to line up! I did two colors for each layer again, adding some shading. That apple needed glitter so I added one of my favorite glitter gels to the top and let it dry.
After it was dry, I added some inking around the edges with Oxide inks and then I used my plaid stencil from my stash over the top. I used a sentiment strip from the ephemera pack to add to the top. The Celtic Green gems are a perfect bling to finish off this card!
