Hi Krafty Friends! Jen from Katahdin Krafts on the blog today, with this fun mini slimline card! Although, as I’m looking at it snow outside…..I’m wondering what did I ask for?!?

Starting my card I cut a piece of white cardstock 6″ x 3″, and blended Distress Oxide inks in: Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire, Seedless Preserves, Villainous Potion, Prize Ribbon and Black Soot. I kept layering my colors until my desired nighttime effect was achieved. I then spritzed it with water using my Distress Sprayer. Next, I tried something new for me, I used “Simply White” Nuvo Crystal Drops, and made “snowflakes” on my card. I then sprinkled baby powder on the drops to make a fuzzy looking effect. I left this to dry for several hours, once dried I used my Rainbow Brush to clean off the excess powder. This gave a fun new (to me) snowy look to my card.

I stamped my image, then trimmed off the sentiment, and used my Scanncut to cut the image out. Next, I colored my snowman with Copic Markers. I used C00, C1 and BG70 for his body. Then R27 and N8 for his scarf, finally YR16 and YR18 for his carrot nose.

I used a Versamark Pen and carefully applied the ink to the “Let It Snow” sentiment on the stamp, stamping it in my Misti for perfect placement. I embossed it with fine white embossing powder.

For my snowy hill I made a wavy cut with my scissors on a scrap piece of cardstock, adhered it flush to the bottom of my card panel and trimmed off the sides hanging over. I then glued down my snowman, and used BG70 to make some snowy shadows.

My card base is 6.25″ x 3.25.

I hope you enjoyed this cute winter card! Snow much fun!! Thanks for krafting with me again today, and I look forward to seeing you again very soon!
